About the Fundus EDucation Study
A number of Australian and international studies have found that the use of Non-Mydriatic Fundus Photography (NMFP) in the Emergency Department increases the likelihood of an accurate diagnosis of vision and life-threatening conditions. Importantly, the management of 40% of patients can change when NMFP is applied. Despite this, there is room to improve the interpretation of fundus images through the use of an education tool.
This education tool has been developed to teach Emergency Doctors and Medical Students how to accurately interpret fundus images, and to integrate fundus findings to optimise patient management.
